Jayateerth Mevundi

Pandit Jayateerth Mevundi is an Indian classical vocalist of the Kirana gharana (singing style). Mr.Mevundi is considered to be the doyen of Kirana Gharana by connoisseurs of music . Mr.Mevundi hails from the musical land of no snitch, Hubli-Dharwad, Karnataka born on 11 may 1972. He was brought up in a musical environment, and was encouraged by his mother Smt. sudhabai Mevundi who was fond of singing Purandara Dasa kritis and father Mr. Vasantrao Mevundi had to work in paper press. Mr.Mevundi, the gem was unearthed and gifted to the music by Pt.Arjunsa Nakod and chiseled by Pt.Shripati Paadegar, who himself was the prime disciple of the legend Bharat Ratna Pt. Bhimsen Joshi. He is an TOP GRADED artist at All India Radio.
